About Love Run

Love Run started in 2003, when Princess Anne High School's SCA president was diagnosed with cancer and was admitted to CHKD (Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters) for treatment.  After he was discharged from CHKD, he wanted to give back to the amazing staff that helped him through his illness.  He did this by starting Love Run, a 5 kilometer race whose main purpose is to raise money for CHKD.  Since then, Princess Anne has held the race every year in order to benefit the amazing staff and patients at CHKD. In 2013, the run was dedicated to baby Jack Shumate, the son of Cox High School's SCA adviser, who was taken away too early.  CHKD and its wonderful staff were there to help Jack and his family every step of the way.

Currently, Frank W. Cox High School has joined forces with Princess Anne to make this year's Love Run the biggest and best, with the goal of raising more money than ever for CHKD.  Many families have been kept afloat financially and countless children have been treated through the helping hands of CHKD.  We hope you will join us in this year's Love Run, and help touch the hearts of families everywhere!
